Options for vehicle handover

Option 1: At an auction centre

We'll get one of our logistics providers to contact you and find a time that works — most auction centres run handover slots at least once a week, and often more frequently if you're in a busier area.  Our target is to always get cars in within at most 6 working days of initial request at worst, if wherever possible much sooner.

Cost: free

Requirements: a minimum of 30 miles of range in the vehicle at handover. If there is insufficient fuel/range in the car a charge of £10 plus fuel may be applied.

  • V5 logbook — without it, we can't take the car.
  • Your service history (receipts and/or service book)
  • A spare key, if you have one
  • The locking wheel nut, if you have one
  • The parcel shelf, if applicable
  • The charging cable, for electric vehicles
  • 30 miles of fuel/range for Auction house handovers, 100 miles for home collections

Option 2: Collection

If collection suits you better, our logistics partner will reach out to confirm a date with you.  Since traffic and public transport are never entirely predictable, we build in some flexibility to help you get on with your day:

  • The day before — a four-hour collection window (and a provisional address for collection).  While we can’t promise to do so, if you have a preference for the earlier or later portion of this window we will do our very best to accommodate your wishes.
  • On the day — an "on our way" call with an estimated arrival time (and to confirm address for collection).

We’ll try our best to cause as little description to your day as possible.  However, please understand that a jack-knifed lorry on a motorway or cancelled trains can cause unavoidable and unpredictable delays.

Cost: collection is £100 for about 95% of our customers. A trickier mix of public transport links and auction house locations means we do need to charge a bit more in some spots: £150 between Plymouth and Land's End, and between Dundee and Aberdeen, and £200 for north of Aberdeen.

Requirements: 1. At least a quarter tank of fuel, or 100 miles of range for electric vehicles — enough to get the car where it needs to go. If there is insufficient fuel/range in the car a charge of £10 plus fuel may be applied.  2. Car must be roadworthy and running properly, without ‘significant’ dashboard warning lights lit.
